what are your hours of operation?
There are two options for classes (MWF and Tues/Thurs). Every day our morning (AM) classes are from 8:30am to 11:30am, and our afternoon (PM) classes are from: 12:30pm to 3:30pm. The full day class option is from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
What is a typical daily schedule?
40 Minutes: FREE CHOICE TIME LEARNING CENTERS (Art, Discovery Table, Cognitive Skill Games, Dramatic Play, Blocks, Sensory Tub, Helping Hands, Cooking, Science)
5 Minutes: CLEANUP
15 Minutes: BIBLE TEACHING
10 Minutes: BATHROOM BREAK
15 Minutes: CIRCLE TIME (Prayer, Literature, Calendar, Special Activity, Helping Hands)
15 Minutes: LANGUAGE AND PERCEPTUAL MOTOR ACTIVITIES
15 Minutes: SNACK
35 Minutes: PLAYGROUND
10 Minutes: LITERACY AND FINE MOTOR
15 Minutes: SKILL TIME (Cognitive Activities)
What size are your classes?
We maintain a class size of 12-15 children in a self-contained classroom with a qualified teacher. Each classroom maintains a teacher’s assistant available to assist with the children.
What snacks do you serve?
A healthy snack including two food groups is served during each session. Our monthly snack menu is posted inside each classroom
What is Lunch Bunch?
Lunch Bunch is a program that is offered daily between 11:30am to 12:30pm. This is an opportunity for children to stay and extra hour for lunch and playtime. Each child provides their own lunch. It is necessary to sign up in advance on a first come/first serve basis. There is an additional fee of $8 per day.
What is your yearly calendar?
Regular sessions run from August through June. We follow a modified Poway Unified School District holiday schedule. You can find our Yearly Calendar by clicking the “Our Program” link on the top of this page and scrolling to the the bottom.
How much is tuition and when is it due?
Here are the tuition rates based on the age of your child and the number of hours/days per week. Below the rates there are further details regarding the payment schedule.
2 year old classes:
2 days – AM (3 hours) $320 per month – 8:30 – 11:30
3 year old, 4 year old classes and TK (Transitional Kindergarten):
TTh – AM (3 hours) $315 per month – 8:30 – 11:30
MWF – AM (3 hours) $410 per month – 8:30 – 11:30
M-F – AM (3 hours/5 days) $555 per month – 8:30 – 11:30
MWF – AM/PM (6 hours) $650 per month – 8:30 – 2:30 M-F – AM/PM (6 hours/5 days) $890 – 8:30 – 2:30
Payment Schedule and Details
The 1st tuition payment is due September 1st.
One payment is due by the 5th of each month (September through June for a total of 10 payments each school year).
If withdrawing from the program before school begins, only 50% of the first tuition payment will be refunded.
How do I enroll my child?
Below is the procedure for enrolling at Pomerado Christian Preschool. To find out more information, you can click the “Enrollment” link on the top of this page.
Call or email the preschool or complete the Contact Us form to set up an appointment to take a tour of our facility.
Once the tour is complete. you will receive the registration form.
Upon completion of the registration form, the registration fee of $150 is due to reserve your spot. At this time, you will also receive the enrollment package.
Registration for the coming year is done in February and continues until spaces have been filled. Open enrollment is available throughout the school year, contingent upon availability.
Is parent participation mandatory?
We always encourage parents to be involved at school. Parent participation plays an important part in the operation of the program. It is our philosophy that as parents become involved in school you are also being involved in your child’s education your involvement is part of what makes our school a wonderful place for children.
What special events do you have throughout the year?
There are various special events throughout the year including parent education nights, open house, bedtime story night, pajama day, bike day, Harvest Celebration, Valentine’s parties, Birthday party for Jesus, Dad's Breakfast, Mother’s Tea, and many other events.
Is Pomerado Christian Preschool Licensed?
Yes, we are licensed by California’s Department of Social Services to serve children ages 2 through 5 years old. Our facility license number is 372001074.
